My 86 year old moms 30 year old AC died and I needed a new one asap. I searched everywhere for a specific size and dimensions to get into her old wall space. I cant believe after days of searching I found this one at Lowes. I had it delivered and installed the next day of receiving it and its perfect. Just in time of the CA heatwave. She is so happy staying cool and comfortanle and I am so happy fir her comfort. Its not very loud either. The remote is a bonus for her being disabled with cancer she cant get around easily. I hope it lasts a long time for her.

Glad I bought this just before the heat wave hit Did a bit of comparison shopping first and decided on this unit. It cools the bedroom nicely and comes with a remote. Because I use the Energy Saver mode theres a noticeable noise when kicking in but otherwise its quiet enough for a sound sleep. Also I wish it had come with a grill in lieu of the soft mesh cover for the front but otherwise I am pleased with my purchase.

We bought this particular thru the wall AC many years ago. Installed the sleeve and AC unit. We are locked into buying this unit because of the unit fitting the sleeve. None of them have lasted more than 5 years. We learned to buy a warranty. Once purchased a unit at Lowes and they wouldnt even sell a warranty for that model. One we just replaced last month had a 4 year warranty the longest that was available and unit died 4 months after the warranty expired. It is only ever used at night on hot days.

This is a great value-fit perfectly but didnt work when I got it. It would turn on then off after ten seconds. I got little help from tech support. Remembered a similar circumstance with a previous appliance. Since returning it was a 50 mile trip each way I decided to take the cover off-sixteen screws but all the same size I turned the fan on with the same result-turned off in ten seconds. I reached in to see if the fan blade was stuck on packing. Found the fan was stopped because the coolant piping went across the fan blade keeping it from spinning/ I manually bent the pipe 1/4 to free the fan blade and it spun freely. I then turned the ac on and it worked perfectly since-no long trip no return Works great now

I bought this on recommendation from a friend. I was surprised how quieter it was then the Friedrich I had believe it. I would have given it 5 stars but the front grill does rattle making noise. I had to keep one side of grill detached and that stopped the rattle along with some sound deadening tape.I do wish it had another lower fan speed speed which would have made the unit noise level even lowerlike 44 db or so.

I installed the unit a few months ago but did not turn it on till a few weeks ago and it just blew warm air so I un plugged it and tried a few more time but never was able to get cold air so I called for service. That morning I plugged the unit in and it was blowing warm air when the service guy got here it some how was blowing cooler air so he said he would document the call. Later that day it was back to blowing warm air. I will have to call in for service again.

This purchase has been a life saver. With the recent extreme heat wave in our area I couldnt be more satisfied with my new in the wall air conditioner. Not only was it super easy to install its even easier to operate. I often use only the fan. Its a little nosier than I expected but not enough to disturb my sleep. As a matter of fact I find it kind of lulls me to sleep. I havent received my electric bill since installation which by the way my Grandson did for me. Im expecting a lower bill than with my previous years old model. All in all I would say this is one of the best purchases Ive made in a long time. Very very satisfied. Looks good too

About six months ago my wife and I moved into our new house and began to upgrade it to our needs. Our research in Consumer Reports Wirecutter Amazon reviews etc. drew us to LG as a premier vendor of quality reliable products and we proceeded to purchase a new 65 OLED TV a washer/dryer pair and most recently a through-the-wall air conditioner and metal sleeve for our bedroom. The TV and laundry purchases are installed and working perfectly with no difficulties. The AC is another matter entirely. A through-the wall AC must be installed in a metal sleeve to separate it from the inside of the wall and protect the portion of the device on the outside of the house from damage. Also the inside of the sleeve must be fitted with several foam insulation strips a baffle and shims to direct the airflow and drainage so the machine can work efficiently as designed. To this end manufacturers provide a detailed owners manual to provide instructions on the accurate placement of each of these items into the sleeve before the AC can be installed. Unfortunately the owners manual is wrong in several places for example instructing and illustrating the placement of a 67 foam strip around the entire interior of the sleeve which is 80 in total inside circumference and ambiguous or inadequate in explaining other placements. So I contacted the support folks by phone for clarification. When that proved useless frustrating and very time-consuming I tried the email route. After a day or so they replied by suggesting that I call the dealer from whom I purchased the AC and hire a professional installer. Home Depot the dealer directed me to a LG certified repair facility. I called and had a very nice discussion with the owner we agreed that it wouldnt be worthwhile for him to travel 50 miles to install an AC. It turns out that it also doesnt make sense to send their repair folks back to the factory for instruction on every model of every device that they install so they get most of the information they need to do the installations FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL Basically they do the installation however they guess is OK and wont lead to a come-back call how many customers will notice the difference. As long as the appliance works OK and doesnt make odd noises niceties like Energy Star and other efficiencies can be ignored. I need to re-think LG as my go-to manufacturer.

So I bought this a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the NYC summer and I am happy that I did because this does its job with cooling down the apartment. I found it at a great price through the wall ACs are really expensive and it looks decent in the room - nothing beautiful but at least its nondescript and unnoticeable. That is until you turn it on this thing is LOUD - I honestly just leave it on the full on mode vs. energy saver because when it turns on and off it would wake me up or distract me. The only reason that I am giving this a 3 star review instead of a 1 or a 2 star review is mostly because its so affordable compared to others and looks halfway decent. I do have the say the trim kit it comes with helps make it look better. I just wish the vents pointed in better directions and it were a little quieter.

Unit grew mold after 2 years

Unit was somewhat cool not great and I found mold growing inside just after two years old. Thats never happened to any of my A/Cs before. Waste of money.

Easy to install and I like the remote with the features. Runs quiet but I know its on. Doesnt cool as fast as I thought and Im only using it in one room. However I do like it and when it comes time to replace the other unit I would but this.

It took a while to get past issues such as false indicators such as the one that said the filter had to be cleaned very soon after the unit was installed. The unit does a good job at cooling.

We bought a new place and it has a shop that is perfect for my ham radio room. Probley is we live in S AZ and the summers are brutal. The shop was not air conditioned so it was imperative that it be so. I did a lot of research on the web looking for a reasonable compromise between cost and BTU. This appeared to be the best one. But I needed to look at real world reviews and again it took top honors. I hired the install and it went smoothly. Its performance has been excellent and it provides enough capacity to keep my radio room cool in the summer.

I bought this during 100+ degree summer heat as my portable window unit had failed. I bought a sleeve and mounted the unit in the wall and its been working great ever since and it easily holds the temperature below 70 degrees. Im quite happy with it. The only negatives are: 1. That it often bugs me to clean the filter when an inspection shows the filter to be just fine. 2. Even in cool weather below the set point the unit continues to cycle on every now and then usually for less than a minute. These items are not enough to prevent my rating it as a great air conditioner that works well.

We bought 3 of these air conditioners and used them for a full summer. Our electric bill did non increase much at all. We were very surprised. The air conditioners kept the rooms very cool and were not loud like most. We would definitely purchase again.

Terrible AC - WORSE customer service

DO NOT BUY Customer service was no help at all. The line buzzed so loudly I could barely hear then I was told I need to keep the unit at 68 even though it goes down to 60. I was told it was overheating and it is normal that the compressor turns off after 3 minutes.... The air conditioner is overheating when it is 82 degrees outside? I guess my other 4 wall units run off magic. The usage guidelines over from customer service were ABSURD. I was told to leave it off when Im not home..... I dont and that is not why I called. I wanted to use it for 8 hours to sleep but the compressor doesnt stay on.
