Expensive and useless

One of the worst purchases we have ever made! This dryer has broken down on us 6 times in less than a year. Sensor drying has never worked and every time we bring it up to the appliance repair technician, he says it™™s fine but it isn™™t. We have to wait for a repair technician to show up at the scheduled appointment time and he is always 3-5 hours late. This cost us work hours and days missed. Could have bought 5 new dryers by now. Asked GE to replace the dryer every single time and they refuse. If they can order a part, they will over acknowledging a defective product. I literally had a technician show up today to repair our dryer. Said it may take a week or more for the part to come in. He was 5 hours late btw. Talked to customer service to see if they had any options for us. Nope! Non at all. We have decided to sell our washer and dryer after the dryer is slightly repaired. We will take our business elsewhere and ask the serious questions. Btw I asked the technician if I could just drop the dryer off so I didn™™t waste another work day. He said no. Great just great. Do not recommend this company at all. Go to Pattersons or somewhere else that doesn™™t need to use third party techs. What a waste of time every single time.

Disappointing reliability for a "Premium" dryer

™I really wanted to love this GE Profile dryer, but I cannot recommend it based on its poor reliability. I purchased the unit in November 2024, and it worked well for a little over a year. However, in early January 2026, the user board failed entirely, rendering the unit useless. ™Having a major electronic component malfunction just weeks after the manufacturer's warranty expires is unacceptable for a machine in the Profile series, which is marketed as a higher-end line. GE used to be synonymous with durability, but this experience has me questioning the quality and longevity of their current electronics. It™™s frustrating to face a major repair so early in the product's lifespan.

This dryer is very flimsy and light. A cleaner fell on it and it dented the day we installed it. You can actually push the top and it will bend. I purchased it online without seeing it because I would not have purchased it being so cheaply made.

I absolutely love my GE Profile Dryer. The controls are easy to use. Has a large drum that will dry bulky blankets. It is very quiet. Jeans and sweatshirts dry fast. I have used the steam sensor for my sweatshirts, which removes wrinkles fast.

We bought this washer and dryer set at the beginning of 2024, for a new build, along with a double wall oven, dishwasher, cooktop, refrigerator, beverage center and in cabinet microwave...all GE (mostly Cafe line where possible). Anyway, in less than 2 years, the relay board assembly and user interface board went out and the dryer is completely dead. Repairs will be in excess of $600, and that is if the parts can even be sourced since they show on backorder. Because this product only has a 1 yr warranty, we now own a dryer that's not even worth parts. Don't waste your money. We are off to buy a Speedqueen to replace this cheap garbage and will probably never buy a GE appliance again.

™I purchased the GE Profile Clothes Dryer less than a year ago, and it has been a deeply disappointing experience. Within a few months, the machine started to produce a loud, high-pitched squealing noise that makes laundry a terrible chore. On top of that, it no longer dries clothes properly, often leaving them damp after a full cycle. ™What's more frustrating is the lack of a solution. Despite having a warranty through the store, the technicians were unable to fix the issue. This leaves me with a broken, noisy appliance that is essentially useless. For a brand new machine, this is unacceptable quality and a complete waste of money. I would strongly advise against buying this dryer.

A major disappointment with a major appliance Mfg, branded as ™Profile™ series. The classification ™Profile™ conveys upper level or better quality to be expected by the consumer however this is the second dryer having the same issue so it™™s not an anomaly it™™s just a bad build. On the very first use of my first dryer the drum was making such a god awful squeaky noise like a slipped drive belt. It was unusable. A tech came out took a quick loon and said the unit needed to be replaced. No opening of unit to see or a pulley or belt moved in transit!? So waited a week w no dryer (this was a $900 unusable unit. The replacement came and after a while the same loud squeak stated again. The fabric softening dispensing from inside door gums up the lint in the trap filter and likely all up in the vent tube which is inaccessible in most houses making cleaning almost impossible and a serious fire hazard. This is not a quality ™Profile™ product. Just adding more tech (which is simply a bigger circuit board and more buttons does not justify that cost. Focus on the build first GE. Otherwise don™™t try to convince yourselves and your customers ™Profile™ series is better.

The dryer works very well, and has great capacity. I also appreciate the different options for drying my clothes. Two things I™™m not happy about are the end of cycle signal and my clothes are wrinkled when they come out. I™™ve set the end of cycle signal to maximum level, but unless I™™m in close proximity to laundry room, I can™™t hear the signal. I don™™t know if that may be the reason for the wrinkled clothes.

I've had good luck with GE products thru my life, but, this is the worst appliance/ dryer that I've ever purchased. Most of the time clothes have to be put thru 2-3 drying cycles to get dry, no matter what items are in it. It was a complete waste of money. It has great options as far as the things it can do, but the most important of them all, drying, it doesn't do. I bought the matching washing machine and it broke the very first day and had to be replaced.

Disappointed in the product & GE Customer Service

Right now I am giving this dryer a 1. First use of the steam cycle had water leaking all over my laundry room floor. The app cycles and the dryer cycles don't match. The main reason for the 1 star is that I have not been able to get warranty service. I am told they don't have anyone in my area so they subcontract. The first place never contacted me. I tried repeatedly over the course of a week, left messages to no avail. Finally got a human and they stated "I'll check my schedule and get back to you." That never happened. Called GE again and got a pleasant rep who set up an appointment for me, or so I thought. When I called to confirm I got a recording that stated they weren't open on the day of the week she had scheduled. Called GE back and they stated she should not have scheduled the appointment. The "locating team" is working on it....after going round and round with the consumer advocate on a Friday she advised they would not have any information on Monday or even Wednesday of the next week, didn't give me a timeline. As I told her, GE should not sell appliances they cannot service.

The steam will leak if you leave on. So, if you want to use the steam option you have to turn the water on and off. The refresh leaks if you try to use it. You™™ll just end up with refresher down the front of your dryer. Great capacity. Very quiet!

Some many things we do not care for. It is noisy, on the Eco-setting the clothes do not dry, the message on the controls always says the inside door is open and it never is. The lint tap is too small and hard to clean. Wish we had never bought it, but it does dry clothes so at least it does the job.

We™™ve moved a few times and the dryer we typically purchase wasn™™t available. I liked how sturdy this dryer felt. It had the options of what we typically use easily at our fingertips. The color blue was a fun bonus. We™™ve had it for a few months and it™™s done what we need it to do. It fits large loads, it not crazy loud, and it doesn™™t take as long as our previous dryer.

This dryer works fast. Our last dryer was really old, so anything is an improvement, but I think this one is pretty good. Three issues: hose inside dryer wasn™™t connected for steam and leaked the first time we used it, but someone was sent to fix, the door has to be pushed very firmly to close and it sometimes moves the dryer, and the at the highest setting you can barely hear the timer go off. You basically have to set another timer to make sure you get to your clothes when they™™re done. Also, the dryer still runs when you open the door sometime, which seems weird. And it™™s really hard to pull the lint drawer out to clean, I worry it™™s going t break or wear down with time.

This is my second dryer of same style in 5 years. Our first ones heating element went out twice. Less expensive to replace than repair. Like a dummy, I wanted the matching dryer as our washing machine is still functioning, so bought the same one hoping the first was just a lemon. Have had it for less than 3 weeks and have already had to have a repair man out because the dryer is SO LOUD. Screeching, squealing loud. Clothes rarely dry after one cycle. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you.

A little difficult to figure out settings if you're not tech savvy and the lint container area gets b dirty very easily and can be harder to clean without something to get small lint pieces from bottom.

New Dryer stopped working!!

I give this dryer a NO STARS review. It stopped working after 3 weeks and the tech said it needs a new control panel. It will take one to two weeks for the part!! They are also trying to get a total replacement which I am still waiting to hear. I find this unacceptable especially since it is a brand new dryer, What is happening to GE. Do they care about the customer anymore?

I bought the dryer at Spencer's and within 3 days it stopped working. It took a week for GE repair to come out to fix it. The repair man told us the parts wouldn't arrive until another 2 weeks. We called Spencer & they replaced the dryer with a new one. During that time while waiting on dryer had to use our old dryer. Not happy & concerned this one will go out to.

I love all the settings, the fabric refresh is great. It is easy to use and quickly dry my biggest heavy loads. The link technology with the wash is such a time saver, it auto selects the dry cycle based on the wash cycle. I just swap the load and hit start.

Washer & dryer were installed today. Team was great that did the install. They were quick, efficient and discussed items with us. They also ran both units to ensure the worked properly. They were here for about 1 hour total.
