This is my 2nd range hood in a 2 year span and I am becoming very disenchanted with the GE brand so far. Hopefully this one works for a long time to help change my mind. If not, I will move on to a more reliable product.

Physically the vent hood is nice. Multiple settings...also nice. High/low lighting is another good feature. However, the hood makes an extremely loud noise on all speeds except low. It is so loud & noisy that I can't/don't use anything but low. Various individuals have looked at it, it's been disassembled & put back together, but nothing seems to correct the issue. It's quite frustrating to say the least. Due to this issue, I would not recommend product, unfortunately.

Instructions say 10 min. install, that would be with a modern house with a standardized kitchen. With my circa 1970's kitchen it took 3 1/2 hours. Definitely doable, but you have to be a creative problem solver to install it.

The way this was advertised on Lowes made it seem as though you were getting the hood, a charcoal filter and the remote. This isn't the case. It's also extremely loud. But, it's very beautiful and looks great in my kitchen.

We bought a new stainless steel range so it was necessary to change the hood as well. We really like this hood in every detail, but we feel it would have been better to have LED lights rather than the halogen lights that are installed, however, they work great!

The hood was fairly easy to install, although the mounting screws were in different places than our old hood and had to drill new pilot holes and the plate that had to be removed for the exhaust vent was very difficult to remove. Otherwise, it works well. We like the various speeds of the fan and two light settings, although the halogen lights get VERY hot and will most likely be replaced with LED bulbs. The stainless steel shows fingerprints as well as streaks after wiping down with a wet cloth.

As I said in the title Nice product with Nice features, but the install was not as smooth as indicated in the manual for some reason the cheap metal thread cutting screws would not start and the screw slots ended up being stripped to the point the screwdriver would no longer turn them! Had to make a trip to the hardware store!

After installed we found it was very noisy on the medium and high settings. The technician came a few days later and found blades were bent. He got it running better and left but the first time we used it, it became very noisy again. Technician is ordering a new blade while we would like a new unit. To be continued...

The hood looks good and everything works, but it is noisier than I expected. Also, the screw that came with it for mounting were not long enough or have aggressive enough threads for mounting to the bottom of the cabinet. After a few weeks I replaced them with my own screws because they had loosened enough that the hood was about ready to fall down on the the range.

We purchased it based on good reviews. The installer installed it and left. Later when we used it, we found out that he left it in the "recirculating" mode rather than "outside exhaust" mode. Because that is how it comes configured out of the box. Now the installer has to come back and reconfigure it. I wish the product is designed so that it does not happen. If you are buying it - make sure it gets installed properly. We are still waiting. Good product, but poor install instructions.

But first - it arrived broken! The control panel on front was flopping around inside the hood. The front had the holes for the buttons. I had to disassemble part of the unit in order to clip the control panel into place before installing the unit. After that, it was fine.
Works fine, except I would prefer LED lights instead of halogen. The halogen are hot. I would also like the lights to be placed a little more toward the center. They light the right and left edges of the stove top more than the cooking surface.

We have had the hood range for about a month. It is very nice and shiny. It matches well with our stove. It has two light levels...a bright day light and a muted evening light which I like. It has 4 speeds for the air vent. I love that the vent screens are easy to remove for cleaning.
