Only thing I was dissatisfied about was the way it was packaged. There's no foam at all protecting the microwave from getting damaged. After just 3 weeks of casual use, setting the timer for 70 seconds, we could not get the oven to start cooking, no function buttons would work, disconnected power to reset, then it seems to be working properly, hope this doesn't develop into a major problem.

It's pretty, but it feels cheap, like I will open the door and it will come off on my hand. Don't want to wipe to hard, afraid I'll break the plastic cover. If I could return I would. Will never buy anything that costly again without personal touching and trying a product again. Lesson learned. I could be wrong. On install if you drop my dish towel on the floor pick it up and put it back and when you break something tell the owner. SMH

This was installed by the builder in April 2016. Used it about three years and the handle broke at the top so I have been using it taped up since then as the cost of replacing the handle would not make it worth it. Today memorial day the microwave decided to not work properly. It wouldn™€™t shut off, I can still use it, but it doesn™€™t shut down so we have to unplug it rather inconvenience since the plug is up above in the cupboard where I can™€™t reach it.

Failed after 4 uses

Purchased this 5/2, installed 5/13, and now 5/21 it™€™s inoperable. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am. To top it off, GE says there™€™s a $134 trip charge + parts for a service call™€¦despite the fact I bought this two weeks ago and it has a year ™€œwarranty™€. I used this less than 4 times and now it doesn™€™t heat and spin. When you press start the timer runs down and the vent function comes on. I™€™ve done all of the basic trouble shooting, hard resets, door switch checks etc. I™€™ve found online. Still not working. Very upset.

I had difficulty with the reheat and express features but customer support assisted with that. The primary use for my microwave is reheating so it is adequate for that. The digital instructions are available but I would prefer a pamphlet or booklet. I do not feel that there should be a charge for one as I do not have a personal printer. Our former microwave was by GE as well.

Purchased to replace same model but newer year since old one burned out. Thought it would be easy install but your designers changed the hanging bracket and the location of the screws needed to secure it to the wall and cabinet. Wasn't so easy of an install. Had to redo entire configuration. Did not make me happy. Stop moving around the hook points and the screw holes. Also not fond of the fan turning on EVERY time I turn it on. Sometimes a quick warm up of coffee doesn™€™t require all that noise coming from the fan. Wish there was an option to turn that feature off but there is not. Want to make this unit better ™€¦ add a small light for the keypad so it can be seen in darkness. One last thing ™€¦ the plastic on the door is cheap. The last one was the same and it broke apart from shutting it. then I could not order a new door after the first one was replaced. Do better GE. You are not the same quality that my parent swore by and I have experienced in the past.

Basic microwave that meets the needs of my 82yo FIL, so simply controls were a must. Installation was easy enough, although the paper templates are always a pain. The line up for the holes in the top were off, not sure how that happened. Ventilation works as expected, nice to have a carbon filter to help clean the air as ours is set to recycle. I did have to return the first one as it was damaged from being hit (bent frame).

Not great fit and finish, with power failures.

At first this microwave seemed like a good thing. Within days the plastic labeling over the buttons began to tear -- if this tears too much, you wouldn't be able to see read what the buttons do. Within a few more days, using the microwave began tripping the power to both itself and to the gas range (with clock and electric starters). Looking to return it after finding several other reports of the same kind of behavior with GE branded microwaves.

Great features and easy installation

This microwave will replace an older model GE Microwave that lasted me over 25 years, so I'm hoping this one will be almost as good. This new one has a few more controls or features than the old one which will come in handy. Installation was a breeze and my old duct work fit the new microwave perfectly. We purchased the black microwave to match our other old appliances, and it matched perfectly.

Broken spring retainer on plastic door latch!

The hour second digit on the LED display went out on the left side after a year. The timers buzzer varies in sounds. Worst is the spring catch on the door latch that just broke. I was able to make it work by drilling a very small hole at about where the catch on the was an stretch the spring just a bit to reduce the latch tension. It was fairly easy to repair; but, very disappointed in the product's durability.

Something Is Missing

A little bummed that the Reheat function does not display the name of the item (e.g. Pizza, Soup, Pasta etc) when the button is pushed. It just shows RH1, RH2 etc. I have a similar 5 year old GE microwave model at my main home that has the name feature. For this unit you need to check the manual to find what food each RH pertains to. Otherwise the unit works fine.

Great price and but mount holes too far front

We had a GE microwave over our range for about 10 years and the new one almost looks the same with the same features. The only issue with the new one is that the front mounting holes have been moved closer to the front of the microwave. The holes for the new microwave are only a half inch from the front of my cabinet above the microwave. Also the inside of the new microwave is not as deep as the old microwave. The glass plate from the old microwave will not work for the new microwave. It's too big and will not allow you to close the door. The mounting holes should be a half inch further back from the front of the microwave. Other than that it's seems to work well but time will tell and the price was very good.

This is my third GE microwave. Pleased with the price. Quality good. The handle broke on the last two within a year of purchase. We glued it back and moved on. The one I just replaced was 9 years old. The vent fan died a year before the microwave did. All in all I am pleased with this model. Not sure if this one will Last like the others. The door is more cheaply made.

Everything is working fine and the color (black) perfect for my kitchen. I notice if the surface light is on that the microwave interior is quite warm. I thought that was unusual. Closing the door is pretty loud compared to my last microwave, but I ordered online so didn™€™t get to try ahead of time.

I love our new GE microwave

This model is sleek & pretty, quiet running & I like the arrangement of the pads on the control panel. It has the traditional arrangement of the number pads. Numbers 1-6 are "Express Cook" which means with just one press you can start the oven going that number of minutes on high. I also like the white interior which has mostly flat, easy-to-clean surfaces. The light underneath completely illuminates the stove top & has 2 brightness settings. The vent fan is quiet & effective. The installation went very well. The wall bracket from the previous 18 yr. old oven (different brand) was nearly identical so we were able to reuse it. After installation, I removed the clinging plastic that covered most of the oven front, but missed the one covering the control panel. It fit perfectly, with no air bubbles, so it took a while to realize it was there. I noticed a scratch on it & thought we had already damaged our new oven! If I could change anything, it would be the brightness of the digital display. It has white numbers that are a little too bright for me. I might add a small piece of dimming sheet to tone it down, which you might want to do if you are also light sensitive.

I replaced a GE 1.9 cu ft microwave that lasted 10 years and worked perfectly until it died. I loved the control panel, and its the same on the 1.6 cu ft, so I downsized. The measurements for installation were the same and the interior cooking area is perfect for everyday needs. Pros..the black I ordered was glossy black which matches my GE fridge and dishwasher. The salesman wasn™€™t sure whether it would be matte black, thankfully it wasn™€™t! The express cooking up to level 6 is great. Cons..it™€™s louder than my old one, and the beeper that tells you when it™€™s one minute past cooking is so low you can barely hear it. All in all, very pleased with my selection.

We don't think much of your products, but, you get what you pay for. The reason we purchased the counter top model, that we just bought, was because this one already stopped working, 1yr and 3mo old. We didn't get an extended warranty, because this one replaced another exact model, that we had for 10yr. But we figured we had made a mistake, when we had to call back the installers, the same day, because the door is plastic, and wouldn't close properly, they had to shim it. Like I said you get what you pay for, we don't have a lot of money for well made, expensive products, but I expected a little more than 1yr 3mo. By the way, a $200 product plus $150 installation is now $350. But I learned my lesson, when I purchased my new, counter top model that we will use as an emergency microwave until we figure out a good, dependable one to replace this one, I got a $40 extended warranty. That makes this $140 product $180. Would I recommend these products, no, not to someone I liked.
