The cooktop looks nice and appears to work well. I have had it only 2 weeks and there are several scratches on it already. It is difficult to keep clean for me and I am very careful. I only use a soft cloth but it still get scratches. I also think the design is not efficient. Five burners are too much for a 30 inch cooktop.

I have not even owned the cook top for a year and followed the cleaning instructions and the paint is peeling off around burners which makes it look cheap. I called support and all they can offer me was touch up paint. Like I was going to paint the control labels on myself. Quality is poor and customer service is even poorer

I™™m very disappointed with the quality of the CafÃ cooktop. After only a few months of use, the knobs started warping and melting due to heat exposure from the burners. This isn™™t just a cosmetic issue™"it™™s a serious safety hazard. For a high-end appliance, this is completely unacceptable. I expected better materials and design from CafÃ.

I have drooled over and wished for the CafÃ line for years! So when we decided to do a full kitchen remodel I KNEW I wanted these appliances. Sadly, I was quickly reminded that price doesn™™t ALWAYS dictate quality. In fact we could have gotten the same or better quality with a less expensive product. These new appliances were installed 2 weeks ago and we have been cooking for roughly a week. Within a couple of days we noticed several fine scratches on this cooktop. It makes me sick! We spent over $14,000 on new appliances and to have them not live up to the expectations we had is unfortunate. Furthermore, after reading the reviews and comments of other consumers regarding the plastic knobs, I™™m now overly concerned about how long those will last ð¤¦ð»™™™ï¸. Overall just sad that THIS is what you get for the price.

We bought a Cafe cooktop two years ago and it is probably the worst cooktop I have ever owned. I am looking for a replacement and it won't be another Cafe. It was rated so high but I don't see why. It is almost impossible to hold your hand over your pot and stir because the heat coming up over the sides of the pot burns your hands and arms, and I don't have the flame too high. The aluminum knobs that turn the burners on have all melted. I had one replaced before the warrantee was up but now all the rest of them are a mess. I am thinking that this stove top is unsafe.

For the higher end of GE and as much as these stoves cost I would expect crÃ¨me de de la crÃ¨me but it was completely the opposite. Cafe I hope you can resolve this issue for me. The Cafe cooktop was easy to install and we love the look in out kitchen. At first, I was worried the stainless steel would be hard to clean without showing streaks but it turn out it's easy and forgiving for getting clean. Only criticism is the standard knobs should be metal and not require the up. $250 upgrade for brass or other colors.

I really love my GE Cafe cooktop. It looks beautiful and is roomy enough to use multiple burners at once. The grates are not slippery so you don™™t need to worry about a pot or frying pan slipping off (a huge issue I had with my old cooktop!) and the BEST part is the stainless steel used on this is awesome. Literary so EASY to clean with no stresks left behind.

We have had this cooktop for a couple of months now and very quickly the knobs are discolored and chipping. Some residual heat from one of the burners melted one of the knobs and obviously doesn™™t look good. I feel the 2000k price tag may not be worth the quality of what you pay for to what you get. I am hoping Cafe does the right thing and replace™™s the knobs. I will update my review depending on how cafe deals with this situation

Low quality under shiny exterior

This was installed as the "top-tier" builder upgrade option in my new build home. We paid extra for the Cafe line thinking it would be superior to the other GE options. This has proven to be a waste of money and an entirely different product than the non-builder grade Cafe line. This was installed in July 2021 and it's already so worn that it looks worse than my parent's 20-yr old cooktop by a competitor. It's just my husband and I cooking, lightly, for 2 people in the last 9 months. The silver coating on the knobs are all peeling off, exposing the cheap white plastic underneath. The burn caps and black grates stain easily and are impossibly to clean and restore. Plus, even if I wanted to replace the knobs (which should be covered under warranty and I refused to pay $200 for cheap, white plastic knobs), they're sold out AND not even sold in the right number needed for my cooktop (linked accessories on the cooktop page are for 6 knobs, not 5 like I need). I gave it 2 stars because it ignites, but based on the quality of the product I'd give it 1 star or less. If given the option, do not "upgrade" to this product. We're thinking we'll have to replace it relatively soon (with a different brand, no less).
